Dave Rice at a Indian Ruin in Beef Basin, Utah - Anna Rice

My name is Dave Rice and I live in Delta County, Colorado which is a rural area on the western slope of the state. I am currently employed part-time as a Planner for Delta County where I spend the majority of my time writing regulations, resolutions and area plans. However my interest is in writing about the things that I like to do, which surrounded by rivers, mountains, mesa's and canyons, I like to spend a lot of my time hiking, rafting and mountain biking. With the Colorado and Gunnison Rivers in my backyard and the Green, San Juan, and other rivers in close proximity, I have logged over 3000 river miles. I have been mountain biking since the early 1980's and explored many of Moab, Utah's trails long before the area became the mountain biking mecca it is today. One of my greatest passions is hiking to and photographing indian ruins and petrogylphs, some here in Colorado, others in New Mexico, Utah and Arizonia. While I have done presentations of my photographs and written articles about my river trips in local rafting club newsletters, Suite 101 will be my first experience writing on the internet. I hope everyone enjoys my articles!
